About me

Hi and thanks for visiting Down Under Waldorfs.
My name is Olga and I am from Down Under.

Couple of years ago I discovered for myself the world of what then called Waldorf Inspired dolls.
If you ask me why I started to make such dolls the answer will be simple - a d d i c t i o n.
I love this type of dolls to bits. (And I have to warn you that this addiction is very contagious :D ).
I used to make dolls as a child and I get back to it some times ago.
Doll making for me is:
- passion
-learning
-opportunities
-journey.

My handmade dolls are perfect gift, companion for either a child or a doll collector.
I prefer to use natural materials (cotton, linen, mohair, wool, jersey, beeswax crayons, and cotton thread) as much as possible, so the dolls can be close to Waldorf/Steiner philosophy.
Each of my dolls is unique and is made entirely by myself. I am creating my dolls with love and passion; sometimes I spent hours in search for some great clothes ideas that can give the dolls such uniqueness that I am after.

Pattern making is another joy for me. From time to time I spend huge amount of time to create and publish my new patterns. In my shop you can find all the available patterns and tutorials. All of them are easy to follow, with lots of pictures to guide you through.

So, have a look into my blog and you are welcome to be a part of my doll making journey!
